I may have a slight obsession with books. I’ve collected them all of my life. As a child, I would spend all of my free time reading and re-reading my beloved chapter books, following the adventures of my favorite fiction characters during the turn of the century stories I enjoyed most. Today, I love finding coffee table books that not only inspire me but also reflect my personal interests, taste, and decor.
Coffee table books are a great way to infuse personality to a space. Matt and I have piles of books strategically placed around our apartment. They make great conversation starters when we have guests plus, they’re an affordable way to decorate. My personal favorite coffee table books are filled with home decor inspiration like this one by Mark D. Sikes, wellness tips, florals and gardens, fashion design and icons, and beautiful places.
Although you can find almost anything on Amazon nowadays, I prefer scouring thrift shops and antique stores for my coffee table books. I enjoy exploring used books and finding old markings throughout that show a small glimpse into the previous owner’s insights. I’ve also purchased several (like this one from one of my favorite photographers) from Home Goods for a discounted price. Coffee table books are a great way to get creative with your decor if you’re looking for an affordable yet simple way to infuse a little personality to your space. Below are a few favorites from my home, including some that are on my wishlist.
