My approach to beauty changes drastically in the summer. With the heat and humidity getting more intense each day, I pare down my makeup routine and focus on natural, sunkissed skin with a pop of color on my lips. I’m always on the hunt for budget-friendly beauty products that actually work, and these are a few of my tried-and-true must have products – all of which can be found online or in-store at Walmart! {Side note: you guys know I prefer doing most of my shopping online and most orders on walmart.com over $35 will qualify for free two-day shipping and free returns!}
Skin
I’m a firm believer that your beauty routine begins with how you care for your skin so when I saw these Evolution_18 Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid tablets at Walmart I had to give them a try! This brand was created by the Bobbi Brown herself and I’ve always been a fan of her philosophy and approach to beauty. Plus, she’s a fellow graduate from the health coaching school I attended! The tablets are packed full of vitamins and minerals that promote healthy skin, hair, and nails. After using these with great results for the past month, I’m definitely planning to try more supplements from her line.
My skincare routine is one of my favorite daily rituals and I love trying new unique skincare tools and gadgets like this Equate Facial Micro Roller. I use this once a week before applying my skincare products. It gives my skin a smooth, plump appearance and also improves the effectiveness and absorption of the skincare products I use. With a price just under $10, I couldn’t pass it up!
Glow
For a sunkissed glow, I use the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer. The powder is super blendable and smooth, with just the right amount of radiance. It delivers a gorgeous yet natural tropical glow, making it look like you’ve just spent your day at the beach and left with the perfect tan.
To achieve a fresh and natural glow, I blend a small amount of the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Glotion Highlighter in the shade Light with my foundation. It gives a soft, lit-from-within appearance to my skin without looking shiny or overdone.
Pop of Color
My clothing choices are brighter and bolder in the summer season so I tend to gravitate towards a fun pop of color for my lips to pull my look together. One of my favorite colors to wear is pink – any shade between dusty rose to coral. I prefer to wear a long-lasting liquid lip formula and my favorite, budget-friendly option is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. This formula has a smooth, mousse-like texture and is one of the only drugstore brands that doesn’t dry out my lips. My favorite shades are Istanbul (the perfect pink) and Stockholm (a light coral). To make the color last even longer, I line my lips with a lip liner first. This matte lip liner in the shade Tea and Cookies is a gorgeous pink that pairs beautifully with my favorite colors.
In the summer, I love to add a glossy sheen to my lips and the Milani Keep It Full Lip Plumpers are the best! The formula rivals some of the top high-end brands for a fraction of the price! My favorite shades for summer are Sparkling Pink, Luminoso, and Blush.
For me, the key to my summer beauty routine is to keep it simple and minimal. A bit of concealer, sunkissed skin, a swipe of liquid eyeliner, and a playful lip color is my typical daily makeup routine.
