A Personal Note + An Amazon Find

It’s been awhile! Today I wanted to share a bit of a personal note and a recent Amazon find. First of all, I want to apologize for not posting in such a long time. I needed to take a step back last year and focus on my mental health. If you read my last post, you know that our lives got turned upside down because of Coronavirus (I mean, didn’t everyone’s though?). Matt and I both got COVID at the end of November and spent most of the holiday season quarantined in our apartment. Thankfully we both recovered, but after a visit to the ER I realized that my health and wellbeing needed to be prioritized for me these past several months. 

That being said, I deeply miss sharing here. I miss writing, I miss sharing all of the happy + bright things that I love here…and most of all I miss talking with you all. If you’ve sent me a DM on Instagram, please know that I am trying my best to get back to everyone. Honesty, I haven’t been on IG much these past few months. But I miss talking with you all so much! 

I haven’t been offline entirely. I have been posting weekly vlogs on my vlog channel on YouTube. Matt and I have been heavily reliant upon our happy place during this difficult season. Going to the Disney parks has been a welcome escape for us. Sharing our vlogs has brought us so much joy and the positivity we’ve received on our videos has truly been the highlight of this past year and a half. 

Also, I am now a redhead! The week after I recovered from COVID I got the urge to attempt dying my hair at home. Did anyone else do this during quarantine?! I had red hair years ago and I loved it. The upkeep is a bit tricky but I am so happy with the change! It’s fun and feels exciting to try something new. 

And I saved the best news for last…I’m an aunt!!!! My sister had her baby girl in January and we finally got to meet sweet little Nusa Rae Brose in April! The first thing we did after getting fully vaccinated was book flights to CA to meet her and oh. my. goodness. there are no words for how much happiness she has brought us! She is full of sunshine and pure joy. We are in love. 

Now let’s talk about this dress! 

I found this ruffled dress on Amazon back in March and it’s become one of my favorites in my summer wardrobe. It has a lightweight, breathable linen/cotton blend fabric that is perfect in the Florida humidity, plus it’s lined. I’ve ordered a few other dresses from Amazon that I ended up returning because of cheap, see-through fabric. I was a little nervous before ordering this one due to the mixed reviews, but I really love it! However, I can see that if I were a few inches taller it would be too short. For reference, it hits just above my knees and I’m 5’. It’s you’re searching for a flirty summertime dress then this is a great, affordable Amazon find.
