This is always one of my favorite videos to film for my YouTube channel each year so I thought it’d be fun to share a round-up of all of my best buys from 2018 here on my blog, too! These are my favorite skincare, makeup, hair care, and body care products from 2018.
For a self-professed beauty junkie, I’ve worked really hard on narrowing down my product purchases and minimizing my collection over the past few years. I don’t buy nearly as many beauty products as I used to and I’m only on a few beauty PR lists. I am extremely selective with what I keep in my collection and opt for quality over quantity. It may take longer for me to get around to trying the latest trendy “it” product, but minimizing my beauty collection has helped simplify my daily routine {and saves a ton of space in my bathroom, too!}.
I’m highlighting a few of my best purchases below, but be sure to watch my video to hear more of my thoughts on my top picks!
Skincare
Elemis has been one of my favorite skincare brands for the past couple of years. Their Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm is amazing at removing makeup, especially for sensitive skin. The balm texture cleanses my skin without making it feel dry and the relaxing herbal scent feels like an at-home spa treatment. The La Mer Soft Lotion has been one of my most used moisturizers. It’s the perfect, balancing yet hydrating texture for my combination skin. The special blend of healing ingredients in their coveted “Miracle Broth” totally lives up to the hype – it’s magic.
Makeup
This Anastasia Soft Glam eye shadow palette has been on rotation for the majority of 2018. The burnt oranges, rosy pinks, and shimmery bronze shades are very flattering and versatile for day-to-night looks. I’ve also fallen in love with this Bobbi Brown lipstick in Sandwash Pink. It’s the perfect everyday pink. And for a flawless foundation application, this blender sponge has been my go-to! It’s super soft and made with 100% plant based materials. The flat edge is great for blending concealer under your eyes.
Hair + Body Care
I don’t know what I would do without the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray! I know that’s incredibly dramatic to say about a hairspray but my hair just isn’t the same without it. It holds my curls all day while giving body and texture. It’s seriously my most purchased hair product of all time!
If you’re a vanilla lover like myself you’d love this Raw Sugar body wash in the vanilla bean + sugar scent! Not only does it smell delicious, it’s also made with skin-loving organic ingredients like aloe vera and medowfoam. I’ve also started using the new Purity version of St. Tropez self tanner and it’s amazing. You can get dressed right after applying it without any worries of it transferring onto your clothing because it doesn’t contain a guide color…plus it smells so nice and refreshing!
Miscellaneous Favorites
I’m an at-home manicure kind of girl and I love using Essie’s gel couture line. It lasts one me for at least five days without chipping and has a nice, glossy finish. My top two favorite shades are Princess Charming {mauve-pink} and Pre-Show Jitters {bright white}.
My go-to workout routine for 2018 was Tracy Anderson Method. I’ve been doing her method for over eight years and every time I try something new I always go back. It’s very different from anything else and difficult to describe…you really have to try it to see if it’s something you’d enjoy. You can find a lot of her workouts on YouTube. I currently do her online streaming classes but she has tons of DVDs to choose from, too.
