[dropcap custom_class=”big”] You know those moments when you come across someone online and feel like you would most definitely be friends in real life? That’s how I felt when I discovered Julia Engel’s blog, Gal Meets Glam, earlier this year and I couldn’t be more excited about her new dress line that launched last month! Julia’s elegant, feminine style is very similar to my own so when she announced she was launching the Gal Meets Glam dress collection earlier this year I knew it would be amazing and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Her designs are stunning – classic yet modern and perfect for any spring or summer occasion. The sizing goes from 00 – 20 and each piece is priced under $200. The only downside is that the collection sold out fast, but I was able to snag this gorgeous blue and white floral fit and flare dress in the style Olivia, which is still available in some sizes here and here. Julia plans to release new styles of dresses each month and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next! [/dropcap]
This cotton dress is perfect for any spring or summer occasion and can be dressed up with heels like I have in these photos or paired with espadrilles like these for casual day look. The dainty buttons, bow, and fluttery straps gives this dress a fun, feminine look and the best part?! It has pockets! In my opinion, no dress should be without pockets. Julia really thought of everything when designing this gorgeous collection!
The cotton fabric is a light and breathable making this a perfect choice to wear in the Florida heat. I wore this all day while Matt and I explored around the Port Orleans Riverside resort at Walt Disney World and I never got too hot – even in the almost ninety degree weather. This lovely liliac chiffon dress as well as this cream off the shoulder dress are also two that would be perfect for warmer weather.
As I mentioned in this post, the straps are a little too big on me and slide down a bit, but I expected the dress to need alterations since I normally wear petite sizing {I’m 5’0 and ordered a size 0}. I haven’t had a chance to get it tailored yet and it isn’t too bothersome, so I may just leave them be.
Wearing this dress makes me feel so happy and I can’t wait to order more when the new styles are released!
