Happy Thursday! Can you believe yesterday officially marked my one year anniversary since launching this blog?! It honestly doesn’t feel like it’s already been one year. Blogging has been incredibly fun and I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to read my thoughts and share this journey with me. This space has brought me immense joy over the past year and I wouldn’t be able to continue without your support, it truly means the world to me.
While I do still love filming videos for YouTube, blogging has rekindled my love of writing and storytelling through photography and styling photos. It’s totally different than filming and stretches my creativity in other ways. A little fun fact: I actually had a fashion blog called “Style Frenzy” in ‘06, years before uploading my first YouTube video! I used it to document what I learned while in school for fashion and retail management. Oh how I wish I would’ve kept it! It would be fun {although quite embarrassing} to go back and see what trends I wore back then. I do still have my old sketchbook of designs and let’s just say it’s pretty cringeworthy haha. 😉
One of the most consistent elements in my wardrobe for as long as I can remember has been my love of the color pink. I probably have my mom to blame because she dressed me in it almost exclusively while growing up. The dress that I wore home from the hospital as a newborn was light pink and full of lace and ruffles! There’s no denying that it’s been my signature color pretty much my entire life.
I went through a weird phase around the time I turned 30 when I felt that wearing pink made me appear too young or immature. I got rid of many, many of my favorite pink pieces in my wardrobe thinking I would appear “more my age” or “more professional” if I stopped wearing them. {Side note: why do we listen to these silly voices that try to tell us who we should or shouldn’t be?….and while we’re at it, why do we freak out when we’re nearing 30? It’s been two years and I’m enjoying them wayyyy more than any year in my 20’s!}
I will say that now I opt for pink shades that are a little more understated and mature. Blush is a pink hue that I consider a neutral and wear all the time. This blush blouse from Vince Camuto is something I picked up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and has been on constant rotation ever since. I love the smocking detail and the elegant ties on the sleeves.
For fall, I love styling blush with shades of rich, warm colors such as burgundy, olive green, brown, and navy. These burgundy pants from Nordstrom are perfect for fall. They have just the right amount of stretch making them so comfy and easy to wear. I’ve shown this same style of pants in green here and I also have them in mauve, too. They come in seven colors – all perfectly Autumnal shades for the season. I’d recommend sizing down one size, as they do tend to stretch out throughout the day.
I’m sure you’re probably tired of seeing this Tory Burch tote bag {it’s sold out, similar style here} by now but it’s so convenient and holds everything I need – including a pair of flats if I’m doing a lot of walking. I’ve been taking it everywhere with me. I kept the same silk scarf you may recognize from this post to add a pop of color. I love it because it includes many of the fall colors I wear so I’m able to incorporate it with several outfits.
I think blush looks great when paired with leopard print and these heels instantly add a playful pop of print.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read and again, thank you so much for supporting me on this blogging journey so far! xx
