[dropcap custom_class=”big”]Each year, I eagerly anticipate the release of the holiday collections from my favorite beauty brands. One of the best memories I have from working in the cosmetic industry is unboxing all of the new holiday gift sets and collections, so I guess they also bring a bit of nostalgia for me, too.
This year I fell in loveee with Dior’s Holiday Collection. Dior Beauty has some of the most eye-catching packaging and colors and this year’s collection did not disappoint.
It was difficult for me to narrow down exactly what to purchase, but I ended up going with the Couture Colour Wardrobe Eye & Lip Palette, Diorific Vernis Nail Lacquer in 673 Ruby, and the Diorshow Plump ‘N’ Volume Mascara & Eyeshadow Set.[/dropcap]
The Couture Colour Wardrobe Palette caught my attention immediately. I love palettes that include both eyeshadows and lip products because they’re a great value. You can create a variety of looks with them and they’re good for travel and on-the-go. The palette is a patent black zipper case with the letters “CD” embossed on top in gold glitter. It’s very sleek and I love that it includes a plastic lid on top of the lip products to prevent eyeshadow powders from mixing in. {I’ve had one in the past that didn’t have a lid and it was a messy nightmare – brown eyeshadow mixed with pink lipgloss is never a good look haha.}
The palette includes six eyeshadow shades: Shade 701 (light pink), Shade 530 (beige iridescent), Shade 573 (light brown iridescent), Shade 583 (dark brown), Shade 616 (gold sparkle) and Shade 087 (black) and three lip colors: Lip Maximizer in Coral, Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in Shade 643, and Rouge Dior Shade 365. It also includes a dual-ended brush for application.
The shades included are perfect for everyday use, but could also be amped up for an evening smokey eye.
There’s something about miniature sized beauty products…I don’t know what it is but when I see a mini version of something I immediately want it! So needless to say, when I saw the Diorshow Plump ‘N’ Volume Mascara and Eyeshadow set online I knew had I to get it. The tiny eyeshadow set is adorable!
The gift set includes a full size Diorshow Plump ‘N’ Volume mascara and a mini version of the 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in 647 Undress (soft, everyday neutral shades). Considering that the gift set is the same price as the Diorshow mascara alone (US $29.60), it’s a really great value and would make the perfect Christmas gift or stocking stuffer!
Last but not least is the Diorific Vernis Nail Lacquer in 673 Ruby. To be honest, I mainly purchased this because of the luxe gold packaging. Isn’t it stunning?! However, the nail polish itself shouldn’t be overlooked. The ruby color has a slight golden sheen that makes it the perfect choice for the holidays. The formula goes on smooth and wears well with a topcoat. The only downside is the brush applicator – if you have small hands like mine the brush is a little large and difficult to work with, but that definitely won’t stop this from being my go-to shade this holiday season.
