Weekend Trip to Palm Beach

Last week, Matt and I drove down to Palm Beach for a quick getaway and to visit Matt’s brother, Brent, who was in town for work. I had never been to Palm Beach before we moved to Florida a couple of years ago but it has quickly become one of my favorite places to visit. The coastal charm and salty ocean breeze immediately feel like home after living in Charleston, SC for so many years. But what makes Palm Beach unique is the vibrant tropical plants and eclectic architecture. And the shopping!! So many amazing places to shop {or window shop}.

On our first day, we walked around Worth Avenue popping in and out of all of the beautiful shops. I’d never visited during the spring and it was wonderful seeing the flowers in full bloom. My camera roll is full of hundreds of photos of flowers! I don’t think I’ll ever take for granted seeing all of the beautiful blooms here in Florida.

I wore this blue and white wrap dress from Express. This was my first time wearing it and I loved how comfortable it was! The linen fabric is soft and lightweight, perfect for the warm, humid air. It’s from Express’s new petite collection – I love that they offer petite sizing now.

We met up with Brent and his girlfriend for dinner at Avocado Grill – a cute farm-to-table and tapas spot in West Palm Beach. The atmosphere is fun and cheery and the food is delicious! They offer lots of great seafood options, although my favorite dish was the shisito peppers. I’m typically not a fan of peppers but these, paired with the dipping sauce, were so tasty! This was our second time dining there for dinner and it definitely won’t be our last!

The next day we did more exploring around the island. We stopped in the Aerin shop and I fell in love with the beautiful selection of clothing, fragrances, and home decor. I highly recommend stopping by if you ever get a chance to go to Palm Beach. There’s a quaint courtyard right outside the shop with a fountain and the most beautiful pink hydrangeas. It’s such a relaxing spot!

I wore this midi floral dress which is also from the petite collection from Express. I don’t normally gravitate towards midi-length dresses but this one has changed how I feel about them. I really liked the length and the ruffle detail. I paired it with my taupe mules from Zara that I showed in my spring haul video here.

We didn’t have any plans for lunch but ended up finding a cute restaurant tucked away in a courtyard called Pizza Al Fresco. We actually passed by this one on our way to eat at another restaurant but the menu looked too good to skip! They have a huge selection of brick oven pizzas and even offer gluten free crust!

We spent the last part of our trip walking on the beach and saying goodbye to Brent before driving home to Orlando. I already cannot wait to go back for another visit…but I also want to explore more around the gulf coast! Let me know if you have any recommendations for where we should explore next!
